Gown Cleaning and Restoration
We hand treat and clean your garment individually at our store. Your dress never leaves our facility. We take every precaution to protect delicate beads, embroidery and lace during the cleaning process. You can trust us to give each item the individual care and attention it deserves.
Anti-sugar Stain Treatment
Spills containing sugar, salt and acid often dry spotless. These latent stains do not dissolve in ordinary dry cleaning and turn an ugly brown color over time. Our unique anti-sugar staining treatment ensures that all sugar, salt and acid (seen or unseen) is removed.
Environmentally-pure Lasting Protection
Vacuum or plastic seals and other materials can damage fabrics. Our preservation material is different. Your gown is layered with acid-free tissue and carefully folded into an acid-free, museum quality, archival wedding chest. The wedding chest offers a window for easy viewing of your dress. If you want to open the box and inspect your dress this is not a problem as the wedding chest is not sealed. In fact, we recommend opening and inspecting your gown periodically (every 3-5 years) and refold it to prevent permanent creases. We will gladly assist with this.
To insure your satisfaction we allow and encourage you to inspect your gown before our museum quality preservation is complete.
Members of the association of Wedding Gown Specialists are represented in more than 500 cities around the world. Return your gown to any participating Wedding Gown Specialist who will inspect and press the gown at no charge. Improper handling of the gown without the supervision of a Wedding Gown Specialist may cause damage and compromise the preservation of your gown.
It’s a green thing!™
When you choose Garment Care Pros to give your beautiful gown the care it deserves, you also choose to help safeguard the future of our planet.
As a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists, we are the first in the industry to provide carbon-neutral wedding gown cleaning and wedding gown preservation on all gowns at no additional cost to you. Look for the ZeroCarbon™ label and look for our logo!
We asked Carbonfund.org, the leading nonprofit provider of carbon offsets and climate solutions, to help us calculate the carbon footprint of the process of cleaning your wedding gown and preserving your wedding gown. We included everything that goes into the process of cleaning and preserving your wedding gown from your trip to and from Southside Cleaners to the cleaning procedures to the wedding chest’s manufacture.
We account for the carbon footprint of your wedding gown preservation with our donations to Carbonfund.org, the leading nonprofit carbon offset and climate solutions organization, and Carbonfund.org uses our donations to help fund reforestation projects worldwide.
Restoration gives new life to your family heirloom or vintage treasure. If the wedding gown of your dreams is a family or vintage gown that had yellowed and stained over time, call us! We specialize in restoring antique gowns to their true color without damaging delicate fabrics or dyes. Our process removes stains and discoloration that ordinary dry cleaning cannot remove.
Our restoration abilities are not limited to wedding gowns. Want to restore your own christening gown so that your child may wear it? Have an heirloom scarf or handkerchief you’d like to restore to its original beauty? Not a problem. We use the same technique on all restoration opportunities and just like with the wedding gowns, each item is hand treated individually.
